The United Kingdom is 3 hours ahead of Brasília right now. When it is 12:00 in Brasília, it is 15:00 in the United Kingdom. This gap is not fixed: it moves with daylight saving time.
How many hours apart today
To find the time in the United Kingdom, add 3 hours to the time in Brasília. The United Kingdom follows Europe/London (UTC+0), while Brasília is on UTC-3, so people there are already living further into the day: when it is 12:00 in Brasília, it is 15:00 in the United Kingdom.
From 21:00 in Brasília it is already the next calendar day in the United Kingdom.
Daylight saving time: does the gap change?
Yes. The United Kingdom changes its clocks, so the difference has two values: +3 hours on standard time and +4 hours on daylight saving time (+ means ahead of Brasília, - behind). Daylight saving time starts in March and ends in October. Today the gap is 3 hours. The next change is on Sunday, March 28, 2027 at 01:00 (clocks go forward 1 hour), and from that day the difference with Brasília moves by one hour.
Brazil, for its part, has had no daylight saving time since 2019 and stays on UTC-3 all year, so every change comes from the United Kingdom side. See the daylight saving time guide for dates by country.

Best times to call or hold a meeting
Assuming 9:00-18:00 office hours on both sides, the shared window runs from 09:00 to 15:00 Brasília time (12:00 to 18:00 in the United Kingdom), about 6 hours of overlap.
From Brazil, when it is 09:00 in Brasília, it is 12:00 in the United Kingdom (within office hours); at 12:00 it is 15:00 (within office hours); and at 18:00 it is 21:00 (late in the day, still reasonable).
In the other direction, a call made in the United Kingdom at 9:00 reaches Brasília at 06:00 (night or very early, best avoided); at 12:00 it is 09:00 there (within office hours); and at 18:00, 15:00 (within office hours).
The same arithmetic helps with flights, whose departure and arrival times on tickets are always in the local time of each airport, and with live broadcasts announced in another time zone. Always convert the announced time before you plan. The meeting planner compares both clocks hour by hour.
