Why the hours shift in late October

Europe leaves summer time on Sunday, October 25, 2026. From October 26, London is 3 hours ahead of Brasília and Frankfurt 4 hours ahead, so both open at 5 a.m. Brasília time. See our guide to daylight saving time in Europe.

US daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026. From October 26 to 30, the NYSE still trades from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brasília time. From November 2, New York is 2 hours behind and the session runs from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dates are in our guide to daylight saving time in the United States.

Japan has no daylight saving time, so Tokyo stays 12 hours ahead of Brasília all year. For any other time, try the time zone converter.

B3 and Wall Street around the holidays

B3 sets its schedule by the New York clock. When US daylight saving time ends, its regular session moves from 10 a.m.–4:55 p.m. to 10 a.m.–5:55 p.m., with the closing call to 6 p.m. Because November 2 is a holiday, the first session on the new hours is November 3. The full timetable is on our B3 trading hours page.

B3 has no trading session on December 24 or December 31. Its last session of 2026 is Wednesday, December 30, and trading resumes on January 4, 2027.

On the day after Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve, trading ends at 1 p.m. in New York, or 3 p.m. in Brasília. December 31 is a full session on Wall Street, until 6 p.m. Brasília time. More on the NYSE hours in Brasília time page.

London, Frankfurt and Tokyo

In London, December 24 and December 31 are half days ending at 12:30 p.m. local time (9:30 a.m. in Brasília). The exchange is closed on December 25, on December 28, the Boxing Day substitute because December 26 is a Saturday, and on January 1.

Frankfurt's Xetra does not trade on December 24, December 25, December 31 or January 1. For the last session of the year (December 30), check the Deutsche Börse website for any changed hours.

Tokyo opens at 9 p.m. Brasília time, so a Japanese holiday removes the previous evening's session in Brazil. That happens with November 3 and November 23. December 25 is a normal trading day in Japan. JPX markets are closed from December 31 to January 3, and the first 2027 session, Monday, January 4, starts at 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, in Brasília. See the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Brasília time page.
